Dennis M.Smith, Jr., M.D. - Chairman
Dr. Smith has over 30 years experience in healthcare and blood banking. He has previously sat on the board of directors of the AABB and served as its President. Dr. Smith has served on the boards of three publically traded companies (Immucor, Inc., AmeriPath, Inc., and Clarient, Inc.). He has also served on numerous AABB, ASCP, and CAP professional committees. Dr. Smith is a founder of TxMS.
H. Neal Smith, Jr., MT (ASCP) BB - President
Mr. Smith has over thirty years of blood bank technology experience and leads all blood bank consulting and software validation initiatives for TxMS. He has extensive experience as senior manager for both blood collection operations and managing transfusion services for hospitals. Immediately prior to joining TxMS, he served as Operations Director of Blood Services for the Southern Arizona Region of the American Red Cross. Prior experience includes 17 years serving as Chief Medical Technologist for the University of Arizona Medical Center blood bank and HLA labs and Adjunct Teaching Associate in the College of Medicine and Medical Technology Program.
Alan D. Gornik, MBA - Senior Vice President
Mr. Gornik is responsible for TxMS information technology services, business development and operations management. He has 25 years experience in healthcare IT and laboratory consulting services, clinical portal sales/marketing, cost reduction implementation, hospital group purchasing and pharmaceutical and medical product distribution and manufacturing.
